Looking through the reviews for Squeak! Squawk! Roar! (all 5-star!), I re-read Bookwagon’s appreciative response and decided it deserved to be shared. So here it is:

Squeak! Squawk! Roar! Readers are invited to join a trail of Amazing Animal Poems. We might have a wasp join our ‘picnic tea‘, or consider the ‘drowsy- slouchy- dreamy cows’. Might they make us feel ‘cow-calm, too‘?

Then again, what about dancing through the poems? It feels we’re encouraged to move, to respond! Perhaps to ‘Spring- skip, hop/ Dance- bop’ at the Sunset Bunny Hop. Or maybe, to ‘crunch- through the undergrowth/ dogging throngs and stings,/ leaping los and bridging bogs’ on a Nature Walk.

Our subjects range from tiny to Elephantine, from domestic dogs or cats’ to the ‘warm and snug- newborn cub‘ in the ‘pure, white Arctic snow’. 

These are poems to be read aloud, shared, recalled and to take inspiration from. Bookwagon welcomes aboard Squeak! Squawk! Roar! What a compact powerhouse of poems!”
