Workshop content

Fun-packed, action-packed and poetry-packed:

I get the children up on their feet in the first few minutes, doing animal impersonations and movements while I prompt for words, description, imagery… I share pictures, toy animals and a few poems from the book, as well as a gap-filling song with ukulele (KS1), building language and ideas. Soon, minds are buzzing with creative energy, ready for poetry-crafting! KS2 classes need pens and paper for first drafts, leaving time for crazy rhyming couplets, some of which we set to music with the ukulele! I supply optional follow-on poetry frames, and you’re more than welcome to send back samples of completed work for me to admire!
