Here’s my latest video-poem: My Place: https://youtu.be/8qm6-pzbH1E.
It’s a reassuring little piece for children in a big, noisy school, or for any child needing a self-assurance boost. Out of all the hundreds of children in the school, it shows, YOU are the only you there, with your face, in your place.
My Place is a published poem, included in Wayland’s Poems About Me, chosen by Brian Moses, 1998.

MY PLACE
My school has hundreds of children,
all different shapes and sizes.
The walls are covered with paintings.
The shelves and littered with prizes.
My school has dozens of classrooms
and I don’t know how many doors.
There’s a work drawer for every person –
stacks and stacks of drawers.
But there’s just one person
who has this face,
and sits in this place,
and that’s
ME.
