It’s fun when a parrot answers back… isn’t it? Mmm, not when they get OVER cheeky.
Any rhymes to spot, within the rhyme?
Can your class make up another rhyme, to bounce off from this one? What would their parrot say, and can any new rhymes be introduced?
An illustration might be called for too.
A light-hearted parrot verse like this one could lead into a more serious debate about creatures in the jungle and the plights they face through deforestation, global warming, hunting and other threats.
This piece could also introduce themes such as animal welfare and pet care.
Or it can just brighten a day and put smiles on faces!
It’s a win-win little resource, whatever you do with it!
