Feeling Fantastic is a published poem of mine and now a video-poem too, on my channel POETRY FIZZ.

It’s about feeling empowered to do the ultimate – ‘record-gymnastic’. The child narrator feels they could housetrain a lion, do a high backflip into the pool, and a whole lot more. They’re on top of the world, ready to explode like a bottle of pop. But how does Mum feel about this over-the-top exuberance?  Hmmm…

Similes and metaphors bubble and fizz in this little rhyme, and many children will recognise the kid’s restless, buzzing, bottled-up energy – and that parental frown in Feeling Fantastic  (click for link).
