Hocus-Pokus – Covid-Focused
Halloween 2020 (UK)

And a few more I’ve just thought up (lockdowns free up time for this sort of thing):
Will we meet a spooky ghost?
No, he’s locked-down, eating toast.
Or nasty witches on their sticks?
Maybe, but no more than six.
Will they actually take flight?
No, there are no flights tonight.
Will great zombies pace the street?
Yes, but distanced by three feet.
Will they eat me up for tea?
No, you might be Covid-y.
But that’s quite enough of those – isn’t it?…
… Ok, here are some more, as you seem to like them:
Nowhere. They’re all stuck at home.
Abracadabra, one, two, three!
Melt away, oh Tier Three!
Beasts, zombies, witches, ghouls,
please abide by Covid rules!
See our costumes! Please admire us!
Only if you’re free of virus.
Toads, spiders, slugs and worms…
anything but Covid germs!
U-oh! Here comes Covid trouble!
Wow! Is that a magic potion?
No, just sanitiser lotion.
Can you hear my eerie screams?
No, connection’s gone, it seems.
Can you hear my spooky hoot?
No, your microphone’s on mute.
Well, put your camera on!
Double, double, toil and trouble!
Fine, but stay within your bubble.
And here’s some magical and uplifting music that I’m hooked on, which I’m adding for Halloween sparkle. It’s by composer Rhodri Williams-Wandoch: Concertino for Vibraphone and Strings (3.49 mins.)
